Fall is one of the best times of the year in New England. People from all around the country come to see the beauty of the fall foliage and celebrate the season at a ton of events and festivals. Check out this comprehensive list of some of the awesome events going on in Connecticut in fall 2019!
October 4 – 6
Southington Apple Harvest, Southington
The 51st year of the Southington Apple Harvest features delicious food, great entertainment, a carnival, arts and crafts, contest and more! Free admission and fun for the whole family.
Chowdafest, Westport
Chowdafest allows you to enjoy unlimited samples from over 30 award winning chefs and restaurants from all over New England. You get to be the judge in four categories. In addition to trying soup, there will be some other food tastings along with an activity center for kids. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children.
Auerfarm Fall Festival, Bloomfield
The entire family will have fun at this fall festival, with hayrides, contests, face painting, pumpkin painting, food, entertainment, banking competitions and more. Admission is $20 per carload.
Smoke in the Valley, Derby
This Craft Beer Festival is back for the 10th year. Sample beer from over 60+ breweries and listen to live music! It’s a fun fundraising event to support local nonprofit groups. General admission tickets on sale now for $30, Designated Drivers $15.

Garlic and Harvest Festival 2019, Bethlehem
This garlic festival features cooking demonstrations, live performances, lectures on how to grow garlic, and free samples from a variety of garlic specialty food  venders. Bring the kids to enjoy some rides and games! Admission - $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $1 for children under 12.
Scotland Highland Games, Scotland
Enjoy a celebration of Scottish Heritage at the Scotland Highland Games. See a highland dance competition, harp circle, highland athletic competition, highland cattle, clan village, Scottish vendors with food and more! Admission - $15 for adults, $10 for students with IDs and Seniors, $5 for children.
Connecticut Renaissance Faire, Lebanon
The Connecticut Renaissance Faire is a time to play, unwind, feast, drink, and celebrate life the old-fashioned way. Listen to music, see performers, check out vendors and more! $15 general admission, $10 youth admission.
October 18 – 20
Glastonbury Apple Harvest and Music Festival, Glastonbury
The Glastonbury Apple Harvest and Music Festival features multiple stages of live music, amusement rides, craft vendors, food trucks, and an Angry Orchard 5K Road race.
5th Annual Simsbury Spooktacular Chili Challenge, Simsbury
A great event for the whole family. Enjoy chili while experiencing all the event has to offer like live entertainment, a costume contest, axe-throwing, a ropes course, beer garden, trick or treating, and more!
Oktoberfest Pub Crawl, Norwich
A fun pub crawl in historic downtown Norwich. Check out 6 bars from 6 – 9:30PM on the 19th. The crawl is free and a great way to have a fun night downtown!
October 26 – 28
8th Annual Milford Trick or Trot, Milford
Sikorsky Credit Union and Harlow, Adams, & Friedman, P.C. sponsor the 8th Annual Milford Trick or Trot event.  Dress up in costume and run to help raise money for the hungry and homeless within the Milford community. Tickets are on sale now for $27 for adults, free for kids.
Hartford Blooms Fall Foliage Tour, Hartford
View the gorgeous Autumn colors as you go around sights within the greater Hartford area. You’ll have the comfort of a bus and be given a tour from a knowledgeable tour guide. Tickets are $20 per person or $30 for both tours.
Monster Bash Cruise, Middletown
Ride on the river and kickoff a fun Halloween season. Visit with characters and have a delicious prepared brunch. Enjoy face painting and live music while taking in all of the beautiful fall foliage surrounding you. Tickets are $59.50 for adults, $40 for children 4 – 12. Children under age 4 are free.
Halloween on the Green, Fairfield
Families are encouraged to come in costume to the museum commons for day of free, fantastic fun.  Have fun with games, crafts, food trucks, trick or treating, activities and more! The entire area will be transformed into an enchanting Halloween village.

The Haunted Graveyard at Lake Compounce, Bristol
Walk through The Haunted Graveyard on a 45-minute walk down a one mile path with over 12 different themed houses and over 200 ghouls.  Each year features a slightly different experience. Tickets are available for the haunted graveyard only or a combo ticket of the theme park along with the haunted graveyard. 
Corn Maze at Castle Hill Farm, Newtown
This 7-acre corn maze features a unique design, different from the previous years. Halfway through the maze, you’ll have the opportunity to climb on a wagon observation deck and take a look over the top of the corn. Admission is $10 per person and dogs are permitted if on a leash!
The Trail of Terror, Wallingford
A terrifying trail through over 30 interactive scenes with over 80 characters awaiting. Experience the thrill of scares, special effects, and more.  $20 for timed ticket pricing, $15 for general admission.
