As we begin 2018, high school seniors are getting ready for the big day—graduation!  Beyond graduation for many is secondary education.  Going off to college or a trade school is very exciting, but can also be expensive.  For many years, Sikorsky Credit Union has granted a $1,000 scholarship to five graduating seniors through an essay contest to help give a financial head start.

It is easy to apply—there is a brief application and a short essay is required.  Applications are available in each of the Credit Union’s offices in Danbury, Milford, Seymour, Shelton and Stratford.  Seniors at Ansonia, Oxford, Seymour and Stratford High School also can visit the Credit Union branch inside their high schools on Wednesdays to pick up an application or visit their Guidance Office.

You can also click here for an application.  To be eligible, students must be graduating seniors, planning to attend post-secondary education full-time and be a member of the Credit Union by Wednesday, February 28.

The application deadline is March 30, 2018, and winners will be announced later in the spring.

The scholarship is named in honor of Thomas J. Williams, who was President of the Credit Union for over 30 years.
