Sikorsky Credit Union, headquartered in Stratford, Connecticut, recognized the need for the personalized touch in banking and is bucking the branch closing trend and is opening a new branch at 945 White Plains Road in Trumbull on February 12, 2018.
“We have members who live or work in Trumbull and nearby communities. I am so pleased that we can provide added convenience for our members and bring our products and services to new members.” noted Vincent Ciambriello, President and CEO of Sikorsky Credit Union. “When two community banks left Trumbull recently, we saw the opportunity to fill a need for a consumer-focused financial institution to serve the Trumbull market.”
Sikorsky Credit Union is Fairfield County’s largest credit union, with six existing full-service branches that are open to the public, along with branches inside two Sikorsky plants in Connecticut and one in Florida. Ciambriello continued, “Sikorsky Credit Union is not limited to serving those working at Sikorsky Aircraft. Everyone who lives, works, worships or volunteers in Fairfield, New Haven or Hartford County can bank with Sikorsky Credit Union.”
Jaime Rodriguez, the manager of the Trumbull office, understands the importance of the personalized touch that Sikorsky Credit Union provides. “I’ve worked for large banks and I can tell you we offer the same services, but with the credit union difference!” An example of the credit union difference includes the Credit Union’s Free Checking, which features no monthly service charges and free access to 55,000 ATMs around the world through the Credit Union’s affiliation with the Allpoint Network.
Mr. Rodriguez also pointed out that while Sikorsky Credit Union may be opening a new branch, the Credit Union has all the modern banking conveniences consumers expect, including online and mobile banking, mobile check deposit, and the ability to join the Credit Union online. Members may also apply for checking and savings accounts, auto loans, and mortgages online or on their mobile phones.
At the core of Sikorsky Credit Union’s expansion is growth and success. As CEO Vincent Ciambriello puts it, “We are continuing to grow each year and are giving the best possible value for consumers in the area. We have a very strong and experienced team that is meeting members’ needs and exceeding their expectations. We are doing this now at our locations in Danbury, Milford, Seymour and Stratford and are looking forward to doing the same in Trumbull.”
When one thinks of the “old days” of banking, images that come to mind are lines of customers at the teller line in a crowded and busy bank branch. Over the past two decades, the crowds at bank branches have dwindled, with many banks closing branch locations. With ATMs, debit cards, online banking and mobile check deposit, consumers have more ways to do their banking. Yet many people still look for a personalized touch and prefer to visit a local branch to conduct their banking.
